Located 13 miles south of Tallahassee, the historic site provides the only natural crossing of the St. Marks River for most of the river's length. The Battle of Natural Bridge was fought on March 6, 1865 and prevented Union Forces from capturing Tallahassee, the only southern capital east of the Mississippi River never taken during the war. Join Phil Gerrell for a journey back in time on a walking tour as you listen to the narrative history of this famous battle. Meet in parking lot of the park off the Woodville Hwy. Tour lasts approximately an hour. |
